Currently Andrew is Global Managing Partner, IBM Social Consulting based in London.
In this global role, Andrew and his team is responsible for developing and delivering a truly consultative approach across the whole of IBM, bringing together the best of IBM’s Smarter Workforce and Social offerings, with world-class consulting services.
Previously, Andrew was CEO of leading social influence platform Kred.
Andrew is also a regular, and sought after conference presenter on digital transformation, new technologies, digital strategy, and the rise of social media to become social business. He is also the editor of one of the world’s leading websites on digital and social, LondonCalling.co, and his content is featured on leading publications such as The Drum, ANZ BlueNotes, Changeboard and on LinkedIn. A former resident of Sydney, since 2005 he has been active in the UK, EU and US markets, and such he has a deep understanding of the social business, social media, digital and advertising spaces and is well connected to leading brands and advertising agencies in London, New York and around the world.
From 2009 – 2011, Andrew was head of International Client Strategy and Business Development for Visible Technologies where he grew Visible from a standing start to become a $MM company in under 18 months in the UK. Key client wins included UK retailer John Lewis, as well as leading agency VCCP. Other client wins included a leading global telecommunications company, a leading global finance company and a leading global software company.
Andrew’s commercial experience comes as a result of running Australia’s largest commercial property website, PropertyLook, as well as holding senior marketing and business development roles with Australian companies Telstra and Optus.
From 1995, Andrew held a number of technical roles with Australian number 2 operator Optus before moving into a Marketing role as Product Development Manager for high speed data products. Andrew held the position of Business Development Manager for Infrastructure Investment and Development with Optus before leaving to join Telstra Corporation.
In 1998, Andrew was appointed National Manager for Business Development in the Marketing area of Telstra’s Business Solutions group, and in 2000, he was responsible for the development of online vertical market opportunities across Telstra’s Retail Services group.
In 2001, Andrew was appointed CEO of commercial property website PropertyLook. This was a joint venture between Colliers Jardine, Jones Lang LaSalle, CB Richard Ellis and Knight Frank. Andrew took the company from a standing start to become the leading commercial property website in Australia. In 2006, the company was sold to News Corporation’s realestate.com.au for $A9.05M.
In 2003, Andrew joined Legion Interactive as General Manager of their business messaging group and was responsible for developing a new business unit focused on the corporate messaging market.
Between 2004 and 2008, he was General Manager of leading mobile location provider, Seeker Wireless. In 2006, Andrew relocated from Sydney to open their London office and was quickly able to attract the attention of the world’s largest mobile operators in the UK and Europe, leading to the signing of a number of contracts with companies such as Vodafone.
More recently, Andrew has consulted in the mobile advertising and digital spaces, providing thought leadership to companies looking to harness the power of mobile and social networks.
Andrew holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Technology, Sydney with sub-majors in eBusiness and Marketing, and Master’s Degree in Information Technology & Telecommunications from the University of South Australia. Andrew also developed a new eBusiness course for the Master of Business and Technology (MBT) course presented by the University of New South Wales.
