I attended a very interesting evening at the Institute of Directors in London on Monday on marketing analytics.
Speaking was Robert Diamond who is MD of Emnos, who run Europe’s largest loyalty program, and are competitors to Dunnhumby in the marketing analytics space.
In Robert’s excellent 50 minute presentation, he did not mention mobile once! A mobile icon [...]

This week amongst all the turmoil on the financial market, one thing is sure – the Carnival of the mobilists is here to present the best in mobile. This week it is hosted over at the phones show (aka the smartphone show).
One major theme in recent times has been mobile advertising and this Carnival is no [...]
In this week’s Campaign, there is a quote that could not go unreported. As part of the Economist’s advertorial on inspiration, they interviewed Will Collin (left) who is a founding partner of Naked Communications about “inspiration”.
In the Q&A that followed, he was asked “what idea should we be taking more seriously”.
In his response (copied below) he singles [...]

Following on from my post and review of a recent Nielsen Mobile report, I read their September 2008 report “Realizing Potential: Overcoming Barriers to the U.S. Mobile Advertising Market” which contains a section outlining what they believe is holding mobile advertising back.
I read this part of the report and kept saying “yes, yes yes” back to the [...]

Debate will continue about what “screen” mobile is – Nokia have crafted a clever 2 minute video, embedded below that argues:
1st screen = cinema
2nd screen = TV
3rd screen = internet
4th screen = mobile
Whichever screen it is, the mobile will continue to dominate our daily lives. A good thing in my opinion.
If someone had said to [...]
Over at MobiAd news, Jim Cook alerted me to an interview with Google’s CEO, Eric Schmidt where he was recently interviewed on CNBC’s Mad Money with Jim Cramer.
Jim has a very good analysis of the interview so I won’t repeat it here, apart from this quote from Eric below:
“We can make more money in mobile than [...]
